Rava Kesari

"Rava Kesari" is a popular sweet item in the south indian states especially TamilNadu and Karnataka. It is usually made on religious occasions as a prasadam to god. It is very easy and quick to prepare.
This recipe serves 2 - 3.

Ingredients Required:
Rava - 1/2 Cup
Ghee/Unsalted Butter - 1/4 Cup
Sugar - 1/3 Cup
Water - 1 1/2 Cup
Cardamom Powder - Pinch
Raisins and sliced almonds for garnishing

How to Make?
Boil the water with sugar, and cardamom powder in a pan over low medium heat. Bring to a boil and Set aside.
Melt the butter in a frying pan on medium heat.
Add Rava and roast to golden brown color; stirring constantly this will take about 5 to 8 minutes. Make sure that no lumps are formed.
Add the syrup slowly, as you add the syrup to the roasted rava the water will splutter.
Turn down the heat and allow it to cook for 3 minutes.
Fry the sliced almonds and raisins in ghee and garnish the Kesari.
